1.Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity ("you", "user"), and Online Linux Terminal ("we", "us", or "our"), concerning your access to and use of the https://onlinelinuxterminal.com website, as well as any associated services, documentation, tutorials, challenges, and browser-based terminal tools (collectively, the "Platform").
By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all of these Terms. If you do not agree with all of these Terms, you are expressly prohibited from using the Platform and must discontinue use immediately.
2.Nature of the Platform & Educational Sandbox
Online Linux Terminal provides a free, web-based educational terminal simulator and command reference library. You acknowledge and understand that:
- Client-Side AST Simulation: Commands executed in the terminal window are processed via an Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) shell parser running within your client web browser. It is not an unrestricted physical kernel instance or dedicated cloud hardware container.
- Virtual File System (VFS): Files, directories, permissions, and system state modifications are stored inside your browser's local IndexedDB and are isolated from actual physical machine operating systems.
- Simulated Superuser (Root) Mode: Commands requiring elevated permissions (e.g.,
chmod, chown, apt install) are simulated for instructional demonstration and do not grant physical machine kernel control.
3.User Conduct & Prohibited Uses
You agree to use Online Linux Terminal strictly for lawful educational, learning, testing, and reference purposes. You agree not to:
- Attempt to exploit, probe, scan, or compromise the security or integrity of our web servers, CDN, or origin infrastructure.
- Use automated bots, spiders, or scrapers to overwhelm or extract content from the Platform in violation of robots.txt directives.
- Introduce malicious payloads, automated denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, or malicious scripts targeting other visitors.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or frame the Platform without explicit written authorization.
- Use the platform in any manner that could interfere with, disrupt, or negatively impact other users' learning experience.
4.Intellectual Property Rights & Trademarks
Unless otherwise indicated, the Platform—including its source code, user interface designs, custom interactive tutorials, command scenario challenges, text documentation, brand assets, and logos—is our proprietary property and is protected by copyright and international intellectual property laws.
